ABOUT THE PROJECT

PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN

Corona’s last Park and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP) was completed in 1989. Much has changed since that time, including the demographics of residents in the City, popular recreational activities, funding for park maintenance and development, and the philosophy toward parks and outdoor spaces. This is why we embarked on a journey to develop a Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

About the Plan

What does the Master Plan accomplish?

Through this 2024 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, the City hopes to:

  • Ensure the City is effectively utilizing park spaces and serving the needs of the community.

  • Be thoughtful regarding changing trends in outdoor activities.

  • Look at parks and recreation activities with an eye toward effectively managing existing and future assets.

  • Develop park plans, programs, and amenities that are experiential in nature with an emphasis on equity and inclusion.

  • Engage with You, our community on what you want to see.

About the Plan

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will serves as the guiding document for the development of Capital Improvement Projects and on-going maintenance standards for recreation facilities.

How can you get involved?

The key to a successful Plan is community engagement! We heard from kids (and kids at heart) about what their wish is for our Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
